 Yep. Minor oversight, but we have an interesting and amusing
 fix that will appear in Challenge #76

 Frank Responds:
 "Odd as it may seem, the design sequence stands as is. It works
 in producing correct muzzle energies for everything _except_
 mortars, and mortars do not use the muzzle energy calculation for
 anything in the game.

 To determine nominal muzzle energy of mortars, multiply the
 energy on the cannon table by the length of the mortar barrel in
 calibers and multiply by 0.0015. (Note that this includes the
 modifications to ME caused by the mortar configuration). Thus a
 40L5 mortar has a muzzle energy of 2.625 Mj."

Goodbye all,

I am leaving the list as my account is disappearing as I have graduated from
the university and going to work at an organisation which only gives
internet access to the bosses. I would have liked to have posted more to
the list but was too busy.

I will try and get a friend to post anything new I design or the current
adventure my players undertaking (if they ever finish it).

Bye for now,
I will try to back as soon as possible

Howdy,

I have friends who are looking to get internet access, and are
looking for the service that provides the best combination of
value (mostly meaning low price) and reliability.

Please let me know how your various services stack up.

Send me private Email at Derek_Smith.LOTUS@CRD.lotus.com

Also, is there a way to avoid all the fancy stuff and just get
Email access for a lower price?

I get this through work so I don't know how it works for those
of you doing it the hard way...

Thanks in advance...

FYI. See below for a portion on a Reuter news article on non-lethal weapons.
 These are examples from a TL 8 culture. How about some of you free thinkers
coming up with some Traveller non-lethal weapons.

I can just see a band of Star Vikings/Lancers/Traders stumbling across a
culture that abhors violence but is willing to defend themselves ;-).

Also, these types on weapons would be good for anti-hijacking devices.

"Marines To Use 'Non-Lethal' Arms In Somalia

    WASHINGTON (Reuter) - U.S. Marines will be armed with new non-lethal
weapons from ``bee-sting'' hand grenades to nozzle guns that spray foam
barriers when they land in Somalia to protect a U.N. troop withdrawal, the
Pentagon said Friday [2/17/95]...The Pentagon official said four weapons new
to the military -- although tested and approved for riot-control by U.S.
police departments -- will be carried by Marines expected to soon go ashore
in Mogadishu. They are:

    --small stinger hand grenades, which explode into hard rubber pellets,
causing painful stings like those from a bee;

    --wooden and rubber pellets fired at the ground in front of unruly crowds
from 12-gauge shotguns and 40mm hand grenade launchers, which ricochet into
legs and cause bruises;

    --machines that lay down a stinging barrier of bubbles laced with teargas
200 feet long, 20 feet wide and four feet high;

    --and a backpack that feeds a nozzle gun to lay down another type of
crowd barrier, this one a thick, sticky foam that constrains the movement of
individuals trapped in it. "
